Seed Library
Patrons are welcome to pick up free seeds from our Seed Library, located in a repurposed card catalog in the Rotunda, during the Spring and Summer months.
Gardeners can donate collected seeds or extra seed packets at the Circulation Desk.
Local Resources
A citizen-volunteer nonprofit that invests in public landscaping projects and promotes environmental awareness in the greater Iowa City area. The group focuses its efforts on beautifying green spaces, parks, major community entryways, roadsides, and median parkways, as well as all public school grounds within the Iowa City Community School District.

Since 1792, The Old Farmer’s Almanac has spoken to all walks of life: planting charts for those who grow their own food; recipes for those who live in the kitchen; Moon- and sunrise times for those who watch the skies; and forecasts for those who don’t like the question of weather left up in the air.
