Harm Reduction Vending Machine
Coralville Public Library hosts one of Johnson County Public Health Department’s Harm Reduction Vending Machines. These vending machines provide free access to health and safety items such as Narcan (naloxone), hygiene kits, gun locks, reproductive health products, and wound care kits. Access is open to anyone, completely free of charge.
Other Harm Reduction Vending Machines are located in the Deadwood Tavern in Iowa City, North Liberty Library and the Johnson County Health & Human Services Building. Items in the vending machines are paid for by national opioid resettlement funds, and gun locks are provided by the VA Iowa City Healthcare System.
