The IRS no longer sends booklets or individual tax forms to libraries. Forms can be printed from the IRS Web site or State of Iowa tax site. Librarians at the Reference Desk will print tax forms at no cost if you know which forms you need. Booklets may be printed at our internet stations at 10 cents a page.
We have books to check out with hints, tips and steps for preparing your own tax return and related topics.
Federal income tax forms may also be requested by phone (to be mailed to you) by calling 1-800-829-3676 (1-800-TAX-FORM).
General State tax information is available by calling 800-367-3388.
Librarians will assist patrons with printing tax forms. Librarians are not able to answer tax questions.
Contact the IRS’s Taxpayer Assistance Program with tax questions.
VITA will be offering free tax guidance through open tax clinics at the Iowa City Public Library. Here are the dates: https://www.icpl.org/events/series/vita-tax-help
