This comedy/drama tells of a curmudgeonly teacher who stays on campus during Christmas break to keep an eye on the few students who have nowhere else to go. He begins to form an unlikely bond with a smart but troubled boy as well as with the school’s cook, who has just lost her son in Vietnam. Starring Paul Giamatti, Da ‘Vine Joy Randolph, and Dominic Sessa. This film was directed by Alexander Payne.
